Who is Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ)

ÉEQ, the new manager of modernized curbside recycling, is a private non-profit organization that represents companies commercializing containers, packaging, and printed matter in Quebec. To learn more about the organization, we invite you to consult our website.

Producer’s legal obligations

Companies (producers) that market containers, packaging and printed matter (CP&PM) ultimately intended for consumers in Quebec are legally obligated to become members of ÉEQ, which involves signing a membership contract and accepting general conditions and related policies. In addition, they are required to report to ÉEQ the quantities of CP&PM they market, by weight, and to pay the related invoices, which are used to finance curbside recycling services in Québec. It should be noted that the membership contract is signed when the first report is submitted, starting in 2023.
